Valentine’s Day in the Swan Valley
8th February 2019
Valentine’s Day. A day of romance and wooing. A day when traditionally cards were sent to profess love and admiration and signed, ‘your secret admirer’. But it may surprise you to learn that one of the theories of the origin of this loved-up day is actually quite the opposite… It was a Christian day of celebration of the decapitation of martyrs!

Thankfully today Valentine’s Day represents nothing like that, there is no head-chopping but is instead a day for spoiling your loved one and rekindling your love by doing something special together.
One way you can do this is to enjoy a sumptuous lunch or dinner, while gazing lovingly into each other’s eyes across the table, at one of the many Swan Valley wineries and restaurants. Here’s a few to get you in the mood:
Wine and dine your loved one in this tranquil setting overlooking the vineyards while being serenaded live by the talented duo, Kemistry Sounds.
Sittella is putting on a 4-course dinner including a glass of Sittella Sparkling Chenin Brut for $91.50 per person or a 2-course romantic lunch for $47.50 each.
Treat yourself and your Valentine to a delicious dinner at this modern, award-winning boutique winery. Dinner will be served in their celebrated Wild Swan restaurant from 6pm – $95 per person or $135 with each course accompanied by limited release and museum wines.
Why not enhance the experience while you are there by exploring their art gallery and underground wine cellar too?
Indulge in a selection of Sandalford’s multi-award-winning cuisine and wines with a romantic lunch or dinner in the beautiful setting of rustic limestone and wood set amongst the 125-year-old vines.
Make this Valentine’s Day a memorable one – you won’t regret it.
Beer more your style? This iconic Swan Valley restaurant serves authentic German food accompanied by a selection of their award-winning beer brewed on the premises in what is the largest glass micro-brewery in the Southern Hemisphere.
Celebrate your love with lunch or dinner amidst the pristine park grounds while listening to the sweet tones of Ben Merito.

Not sure which winery or brewery to choose? Concerned about drink –driving? With a Swan Valley wine tour, not only is the choice made for you and you get to go to several, you will even get to visit the chocolate factory for a sweet ending to the day and be driven around in air-conditioned comfort. You can’t get much better than that.
Our wine tours run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and Valentine’s Day is on a Thursday this year. How perfect is that? So, take the day off and book your day of love and indulgence now.
Single? Forget your relationship status and get a group of single friends together and organise a Swan Valley Wine Tour – it’s only 25 minutes from Perth – so why wouldn’t you?
